For cleantech, Smart Hub Flemish Brabant focuses primarily on the following areas:
Heat/cold
Heat accounts for around 60% of our total energy demand. That’s why we focus primarily on sources such as river heat (aquathermy), waste heat from the food industry, and data centers to warm our buildings. For major consumers like the food industry, we develop tailor-made solutions. Using low-temperature heat networks or even microgrids, we ensure efficient distribution and enable seasonal storage of heat and cold.
