Protection of personal data

Smart Hub Flemish Brabant attaches great importance to the protection of privacy and processes the personal data provided to it with due care. Personal data are those data that allow us to identify you as a person, whether or not we actually do so.

Most information is available via the website without you having to provide personal data. The personal data you provide through the website in the context of a particular activity or service are processed with care. This Privacy Statement describes how the Province of Flemish Brabant handles the personal data it processes.

Processing of personal data

The personal data you provide via this website will be processed by Smart Hub Vlaams-Brabant, an initiative of the Province of Flemish Brabant, Provincieplein 1, 3010 Leuven. They are processed in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 27 April 2016 (better known as General data Protection Regulation or 'GDPR'). Smart Hub Flemish Brabant processes personal data only for the purpose for which they are collected and only for as long as necessary for this purpose. Subscriptions to the e-newsletter are only recorded in the newsletter system and only for the e-newsletter. Unsubscribing is always possible via a link in the newsletter.

Passing on to third parties

Smart Hub Flemish Brabant will only pass on your data to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. Smart Hub Vlaams-Brabant will always inform you accordingly.

Personal data will under no circumstances be used for commercial purposes.

Inspection and rights regarding personal data

You have the right to request access to your own personal data. You can request access to your personal data, consult them and, if necessary, have them corrected. Automatic storage of non-personal data

During a visit to the website, data of a non-personal nature such as browser type, IP address, platform and 'cookies' may be placed on the hard drive of your computer. This is done solely to better tailor the website to the needs of returning visitors.

All data on surfing behaviour can be converted by Smart Hub Vlaams-Brabant into anonymous statistics or log files. However, under no circumstances will they be analysed on an individual or personal level. The province does not pass this data on to other organisations.

It is possible that this Privacy Statement may be amended in the future. Our policy regarding personal data is therefore regularly reviewed against current regulations. Changes will be announced on this page.
