Smart logistics

At Zaventem airport, digitalisation is being deployed for smarter logistics through the Digital Green Lane. This is a uniform standardised pick-up and delivery process between freight forwarders and ground handlers at BRUcargo. The cargo community at Brussels Airport and Air Cargo Belgium set a new milestone for the entire industry, with the aim of working 100% digitally. Through a dashboard, performance can be tracked which allows for process improvement.

Cargo can be picked up or dropped off at ground handlers during a pre-registered time slot - with all information shared digitally and time stamps kept by the driver using a mobile device. This offers numerous benefits: less waiting time for trucks, less congestion, more efficient use of available resources and less paperwork.
