Incubation and acceleration
Food Port, the cornerstone of the Feed Food Health project, aims to bring science and business closer together, promoting cooperation between scientists and entrepreneurs.
The Feed Food Health Campus in Tienen with its incubation centre Food Port arose from a collaboration between the province of Flemish Brabant, the POM, the City of Tienen and KU Leuven. These parties are both initiators and developers of the project. The campus is a thematic business zone for research-oriented companies linked to the food sector in its broadest sense. The Food Port is the hub of the campus and provides modern infrastructure (office, lab and/or production space) for start-up companies from the food or health sector.
We continuously strive to strengthen and sustainably anchor the agrifood ecosystem in Tienen and the wider region. We do this by actively looking for new opportunities and strategic collaborations.
We hold exploratory talks with start-ups that want to establish themselves in the Food Port and support companies that want to grow on the campus. We also continue to invest in the optimisation of basic support services and the development of professional guidance programmes for food start-ups and SMEs.
In this way, we are building a dynamic and innovative food hub, where entrepreneurship and growth are central.
