Our mission

Smart Hub Flemish Brabant's mission is to stimulate innovation, promote cooperation between knowledge institutions and companies and attract (foreign) investment.

In doing so, Smart Hub Flemish Brabant focuses on 5 innovative sectors that are important for Flemish Brabant: logistics, health, food, cleantech and creativity.

Our vision

Growing the province of Flemish Brabant into a European hotspot where economic creativity and innovation go hand in hand with growing prosperity and well-being.

By strengthening cooperation between knowledge and research institutions and the business world, the province will further develop its role as an engine for the knowledge economy in our country.

On the other hand, as a top business region and with Brussels Airport and the science parks as spearhead locations, the province will act as the ideal gateway to Europe.

Objectives, activities and services

To achieve lasting results in our province of Flemish Brabant, we pursue four broad objectives:

  1. Community building: We bring companies, knowledge institutions and governments together to promote cooperation and innovation. To this end, we organise activities and set up initiatives.
  2. Project operation: We support, guide and finance cooperation projects between companies, knowledge institutions and governments in our 5 spearhead sectors: health, logistics, cleantech, food and creativity.
  3. Promotion: We promote and profile Flemish Brabant as a unique knowledge region at home and abroad. This is how we attract (foreign) companies to the science and business parks in our province.
  4. Internationalisation: We encourage and initiate international partnerships and projects for Flemish Brabant's companies and knowledge institutions. Actions are primarily aimed at our 5 focus regions: North Brabant (Netherlands), Rhein-Neckar (Germany), Skåne (Sweden), Capital Region of Denmark and Chengdu (China).
