and& 2021 - innovate for the better

Covid is still here, climate change is only speeding up and fake news continues to disrupt society. So far, 2021 hasn't been much better than annus horribilis 2020. However, bright and visionary minds all over the world are trying to look beyond the big issues of our times.

For these thinkers, creatives and entrepreneurs, the current global crises are opportunities. And innovation is their tool. They innovate for the better.

and& is building an interdisciplinary space where those minds can meet, the experts as well as the curious. During a five day hybrid festival both speakers and public are invited to step outside their field of expertise, and enter the fertile ground of common sense, of new synergies.

In the city of Leuven you can expect a Conference with 100+ talks and interviews; broadcasted from numerous locations around town. Guided by our 21 questions for the 21st century - discover the first five here - we'll explore the domains of health, sustainability, finance, robotics, synthetic biology, AI, water pollution and architecture... to name a few. Among the new speakers are global health advocate Adaoro Okoli, lifelong activist Micah White, architect Carolyn Steel, journalist and YouTube expert Chris Stokel-Walker and a whole lot of other inspiring names. They will accompany reconfirmed speakers like Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, artist Alexandra Diasy Ginsberg, Waze co-founder Uri Levine, scientist Antonio Bicchi and more.

In addition to the Conference, and& will also shine a light on some of the greatest minds during the Entrepreneurial Summit. Will be welcomed: Benjamin Tincq - the man behind Good Tech Lab, Peter Vanham, Lalynn Wadera and others.

There is also a stage for a Play programme for the youngest, an avant-garde Music & Arts festival and a front line Leuven iCapital Show. Expect the unexpected.

Tickest for the festival can be bought here.
